HSSE POLICY Masana Petroleum Solutions ( “ Masana ” ) is a marketer and supplier of petroleum products and solutions to businesses in different sectors of the economy in South Africa. Where applicable, the products we market and sell are transported by road to customer sites, otherwise customers collect at nominated depots. Through a process of hazard identification and risk assessment, we have determined that the significant occupational health, safety and environmental hazards at Masana are related to ground/soil pollution, moving machinery, fire, transportation, waste and water pollution. The leadership of Masana and all employees recognize health, safety and environment as an integral part of business performance. On behalf of all employees of Masana, we commit to: 1. Eliminate or prevent personal injury and occupational health hazards & diseases associated with exposure to transportation, storage, and distribution of petroleum products and any other activities in our operations; 2. Eliminate, prevent or mitigate our impact on the environment and neighbouring communities through effective handling of petroleum products, including waste, and through efficient utilisation and conservation of energy, water and natural resources; 3. Set occupational health, safety and environmental objectives and targets – these are to be communicated to all and implemented at appropriate levels in the organisation; 4. Continually improve operations and processes, so as to realise a high level of performance in Health, Safety and Environmental issues; 5. Comply with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental legal requirements, and any other requirements as determined by Masana and other industrial bodies that Masana subscribes to; 6. Introduce and operate appropriate systems and provide training for all employees and contractors to ensure they are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities towards achieving the objectives of this policy; 7. Through structured auditing processes and annual management reviews, evaluate the efficiency of our Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and related procedures; and 8. Adhere to any government regulations and / or health and safety protocols as may be introduced from time to time and applicable to Masana. This policy will be made available to all our stakeholders, including interested and affected parties.
